Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

Home / Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

Endoscopic Sinus Surgery is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat chronic sinus conditions that do not improve adequately with medicines and other conservative treatments. The procedure is performed through the natural openings of the nose using a small, specialized endoscope that provides a clear and magnified view of the nasal passages and sinuses. It may be recommended for conditions such as chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, recurrent sinus infections, and blockage of the sinus drainage pathways. The aim of surgery is to remove diseased tissue or nasal polyps, clear blocked pathways, improve sinus drainage, and restore normal nasal function while preserving healthy surrounding structures. Since the procedure is performed through the nose, there are generally no external facial incisions. A detailed ENT examination, nasal endoscopy, and appropriate imaging such as a CT scan may be performed before surgery to understand the extent of disease and plan the most suitable treatment.
